Just a few snaps from my night out with the laydeez. I need to take my camera out more. I like making these photo spread thingies.
:)
{WHAT MAGIC IS THIS?}
Surprising absolutely no one, I'm already straying from the pre-made prompts. Not because they are boring or unimaginative, but because I really have a problem with not being a smartass. Also, the various memories of my first's are exceedingly embarrassing and possibly still prosecutable. We can talk of those times all in good time, lovers.
Instead, I'd like to share a(nother) loving post on my ginger-haired nephew. He'll be seven months this week! It's almost like he suddenly became this gorgeous little boy, who loves squash, wants to drink from a big person glass, sits up on his own, getting his first teeth, waves, and is a Casanova-in-training. Where did the little sleepy, snugglebutt boy go? It's hard to believe he would fall asleep anytime, anywhere, and now he fights sleep until completely drained of energy. (Just like his Daddy!)
Where did the time go? I can't wait to witness all of his beginnings, but the speed it's going by at is breaking my heart.

I love you, HT!

As summer wraps up, I find myself drawn to sheer, light fabrics. This new-found passion would have been nice for the entirety of summer, but I'm not exactly known for my willingness to embrace change or peek-a-boo fabric. But Free People had a gorgeous sheer dress on sale that I had to snap up.
While I've mostly worn it with solid unders and bikinis, I have a bombshell one-piece heading my way to make this something other than "beach cover up". But until then, I layered a vintage slip underneath to make this somewhat more appropriate for public consumption.

(Love the lace detail on the bodice.)

My favorite liquor is vodka. My favorite vodka drink is the Key Lime Martini. My drink mix comes in two variations: make it or fake it. I only can get my hands on key limes every so often, which is why I came up with the fake it. (Note that the true key lime martini is so much yummier. If I could, I would be surrounded by key limes at all times.)
3 shots vanilla vodka (I like Three Olive, but whatever's on sale is just as good.)
juice from 1/2 lime
pinch of sugar
1 shot of pineapple juice

Add ingredients over ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds before straining into a chilled martini glass. Enjoy.
