DECONSTRUCTION: KOHL'S

102111145038

Above is a very cute ruffled Tee from Apt. 9 at Kohl's. On 70% sale. I love the color, cute a gorgeous deep indigo that looks fabulous against my skin tone. The fabric is a nice, light-weight jersey, and flows beautifully along the body. The strategic placement of the ruffles hides my belly pooch, and makes me feel a bit bustier. *wink*

You bet your tush I snapped this baby up.

Here was a Vera Wang tank/tunic on sale for 60% off. In this I'm wearing the medium, which was too tight on the breasts. I love the pattern, and the loose flow from the breasts on down. The length is also a plus, so I can wear this more with jeggings. I snagged it in a large after the dressing room test run.

Since the outing, I've worn the Apt. 9 top so often, it is ridiculous. I went to another Kohl's to snag a few more in other colors. All on sale. With a coupon. I've found that when washing, it is best to run them on the casual setting in the washer, and only have them in the dryer for about 15 minutes, then hang them up to finish.

I've only worn the Vera a few times, more because I haven't worn jeggings.

Overall, I'm happy with these purchases, and can forsee an excellent level of cost to wear.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: BOHO BOO HOO

Dress: Planet Gold (on sale at Macy*s)
Jacket: Ecote
Boots: Volatile
Hat: Urban Outfitters panama hat
Necklaces: gift (silver); gift (gold)
Rings: gift from bestie (purple stone; Lucky brand); thrift store (turquoise)
Bracelet: gift (leather & angel charm)

Today was a rather nice day! It was around 55 this afternoon, clear skies and low breeze. I love the panama hat for bad hair days. Which was needed today. Flat, wouldn't hold any volume, couldn't decide which way I wanted the part, blah blah. I'm really loving the major bling rings I've been getting. Going to set aside Sunday for flea markets and garage sales. Awwwwww yeeeeeah.

Ciao, loves!

(BTW, my palm tree is wrapped in a blanket because of the freeze warnings we've had. Need to keep it alive. It's damn cold in the mornings. Last night, I froze my ass off scraping ice off my windshield with a business card and the defroster blowing full.)

Wear It All

Instead of donning my Saturday night outfit again, I just decided to update it. I wore black tights and my argyle sweater on Saturday, and some jewelry, but other than that, just keeping it frugal gangsta. Word.

I had errands to do today, school stuff, laundry, groceries, the usual, like anyone else does. So, it was nice to have something easy and right at hand to throw on.

A nice plus, I got lots of attention. One sweet old man told me to go in ahead of him at the grocery store, and after I thanked him, said, "A beautiful girl like you must always have a good day. I hope you do." He was so sweet. I don't always have such a positive attitude about being complimented, but some days it's nice.

On to the outfit!

Like I said, this is like the one I wore out Saturday. It was really comfy, so I decided to use this as the template for my lazy days, instead of my gym pants and big sweatshirts. (I KNOW. FAUX PAS. GOD.) I fucking love those Slinger boots. Cushy cushy CUSHY.

It was a nice sunny afternoon. I think it's funny that the sunlight makes my waist pop in. Nice. Then again, I have big hips (comparatively) so that shouldn't surprise me.

Hee, I love Photoshop. I usually try to keep the photomanipulations to a minimum, but I tried a new template today, and wanted to share. I like the acid type look.

I just like how this captured my attitude. And I was making some tasty stroganoff. NOM.

Dress: American Apparel
Tights: delia's
Boots: RocketDog Slinger boots
Hair: outta control

Bad-Ass Biker Chick?

What does one wear for a night of partying and hell-raising with thousands of bikers?

Something leather. Something tight. Something studded. ATTITUDE REQUIRED.

Yeah, yeah, Bike Week was last week. Gimme a break! I was rushing out the door to make it to Daytona, so I only got these quick camera shots. And the one from the bar my girl Jess took. It was pretty damn chilly out, needed a scarf, but not too bad.

I wore my Volatile boots. Studded and I love them! You can't see them in the photos, but they are so freakin' awesome! I'll be wearing them again.

Yes, that is a wreath on the wall. With seashells. My workplace is special.

The bathroom cubicle is realy tiny, and the techs don't knock. They just bust up in there.
My girl Jess took this at the bar. She had never seen a cigarette machine before, and needed proof for everyone in New York. Funny, eh?

Top: bra top cami and tunic from NYE
Leggings: Mossimo faux leather
Boots: Volatile
Scarf: depeche mod
Earrings: Grandma's
Jacket: Forever 21
Purse: Ariat

I had a blast visiting with Jess and the BBT boyfriend. And breaking all the darts in the bar. Thank goodness we're cute, or else we'd never have gotten away with that.
Until tomorrow!

Today's Outfit

This is the first time I'm posting an OOTD (Outfit of the Day per every other blogger out there) and I'm super nervous. I used my Nikon S4 with a 30 second interval timer. So there were tons of outtakes where I didn't pose in time, and was caught making some silly faces, so just count that as my quirky charm.

Here we go!

(I lost my balance right when this was shot. Hooray!)

(DORK)

Top: Forever 21
Leggings: Xhilaration
Boots: RocketDog Slinger boots
Earrings: Grandma's
Necklace: Made by my mom

Let me know what you think!

Deconstruction: RocketDog Slinger Boots

So, the blabbing yesterday about my excitement over FINALLY getting my UPS delivery is going to be expanded into a new article where I break down my purchases. Kind of pompous and capitalistic, but fuck, what do I care? I want to share my opinion on various items or objects d'art, or, you know, pretty shoes.

So I drive home like a maniac, nearly getting sideswept by a trucker and cussing out a poor old couple from Michigan (DRIVE FASTER OR GET OUT OF THE FAST LANE DAMN) on the way, race through my house, squealing when I spot the box outside the front door. Thank God no one else was there, or I would've further cemented my family's impression that I'm a hopeless dork.

I pulled the boots on right in the entryway. Oh. Oh, darlings, I cannot describe the bliss.

RocketDogs are comfy and still stylish. But it felt like I was walking in smooshy puddles of cotton candy. The heel is modest, like an inch-and-a-half or so, but it's perfect. The style is amazing, and makes it look much more expensive than it was. Slouchy, with straps wrapped around the body of the boot, buckling on the side, it is so stylish and super chic.

I ordered it a half-size above what I normally wear, and that was perfect. The fit is incredible, not tight, but snug enough to keep my foot in place, and roomy enough that my tootsies get ventilation and don't sweat. (Euwww, sweaty feet.) I'm wearing them right now, and actually feel hella fancy.

Overall, these were a great buy, and I cannot wait to show them off all over the place! Pictures to come.

:)
