MINI SKIRT DETECTIVE

While checking my traffic tracker, something I do to see how people are finding the blog, I noticed the greatest search phrase I've gotten a hit on, next to "Packers Superbowl panties": Mini Skirt Detective.

I was stoked!

Seriously, lovers, if I ever rename Fashion Rihab, it would be changed to Mini Skirt Detective. There would be a detective uniform I would don while shopping and dispensing my sage advice. Most importantly, I would wear a monocle. All. The. Time.

My first scoop as M.S. Detective are the following lovelies.

Soundwave Print Mini Skirt

Jersey Pocket Skirt

Leatherette & Knit Skirt

BEATBOXING ROBOT

At least, that's what my Android notifications calls my text message tune. I kind of like it. Dick-dicka-da! Dicka-dicka-da! Beat. Box. Ing robot.

In contrast to my hopes of one day owning a robot that will beatbox for me, and not those canned beatboxing like on keyboards, is the retro clothing vibe. I love the polka dots and stripes and classic cuts and nautical themes and all of it. Were I not in my mid-20s, I would so totally rock these hot pants.

SO CUTE. I would slap my vintage polka dot blouse on this baby.

How do you feel about retro trends?

FRIDAY FANTASY

It's a gorgeous day, clear skies and mild temperatures. If I had unlimited funds, and no uniform code, I would be wearing the following...

(Actually, I'd be in the maillot, wide brimmed straw hat, Jackie O's, lounging in the Keys, with margarita in hand. *sigh* So ready for a vacation.)

POLKATOP
{121Avenue. Ebay find.}

STRIPEDSKIRT
{CuttieeHouse. Ebay find.}

Happy Friday!

Today's Outfit

Since I had so much fun with the first post, I decided I should keep hamming it up for the camera. I mean, it's MySpace or my blog. LOLOLOL.

Ahem. Pardon me.

I got a cute as hell polka dot skirt from F21 last week, and finally busted it out. Today's temperature was somewhere in the 50s, but I do not care! It is a Saturday! I am allowed to dress cute for housework and internet shopping! So there.

I love this tank. I made it myself, from a WALMART black ladies tank and a couple men's undershirts for the white "flowers" on the neckline. I pretty much followed a mish-mash of directions from My Mama Made It, some sewing catalogues lying around the house, and my own little brain. I haven't washed it, as it is, yet, so I hope I sewed them in tight enough.

Ugh, I'm sorry my bra straps made an appearance in the first few shots. I should really get a racerback bra. Hn.

With such an intricate neckline, I didn't want to wear a necklace. And with such an embellished neckline, you really don't need one. Some cute earrings and chunky bracelet, and tra-la-la! Fancy.

Please pardon my hair, I haven't been to the salon in a while, so my roots are hella long and dark. And I need to trim up my bangs, and freshen up my shag cut. But that's all for Monday! Yaya, chemically colored hair! I love being a woman.

No, really, I do.

See?!

COVET

This edition of COVET is: polka dots!

I don't know when I began my romance with polka dots, probably at Disney when I met Minnie Mouse for the first time, but after years, I'm falling in love all over again.

Polka dots are classic, whimsical, and flirty. Whether Swiss-cheese size, itty bitty micro size, or anywhere in between. And lately there's been a great crop of cute, affordable options.

Pleated skirt from F21. WANT. Seriously, how cute is this?! I can see pairing this with all kinds of whimsical and girly tops.
:D

Tights! I saw the lovely and adorable Tiffany from I am Style-ish wearing polka dot tights a while back, and have been lusting for a pair of my own ever since. She always has some of the cutest ideas! This is a more subtle way to flaunt the dots.

Dress from Forever 21. Slim, sexy, so totally on trend. I think I'd like this a bit more if it were knee-length or just above. there's a low back on this (which I forgot to snag a picture of, damn it!) so I really think that would help balance this out. Other than that, dude, toss on the Miss Me wedges from the "COVET: shoes!" post and rokk! I'd like to try wearing this with turquoise accessories: pleather belt, chunky ring, dangling earrings or rough-cut necklace. And turquoise snakeskin pumps.

DROOL.
And I would like to note, on January 20th, while reviewing Forever 21 Twist line, I said I wished they made a retro polka dot dress. This is what I was thinking. A kinda sheath dress, only sexier and dripping with attitude. Brava, F21!

Care to guess which one I'll be deconstructing soon?
