OUTFIT OF THE DAY: PEEK IN MY BRAIN

I just realized how gross that title is. Oh boy.

Anyways, if you follow the blog on Facebook, or Twitter, you already know I was planning on doing a rundown of how I pick my outfits. With silly commentary. Hooray!

Wake up and check outside. Since I'm off Tuesdays, this method works better. When I have work, I just assume the day will be hot and afternoon rainy. Since it was already cloudy and drizzling, I decided to wear something bright and happy.

My closet is crammed. Need to reorganize it by color and season.

Got the dress and picked my statement piece.

After getting dressed, it's time to do my hair. Specifically, bangs. A spritz of leave-in conditioner or tap water, roll in velcro roller, blast with hair dryer.

Oh God.

Done!

Love my lilac nails. They pop against every outfit!

Dress: Love 21
Belt: Forever 21
Earrings: Forever 21
Shoes: l.e.i.
Necklace: gift from Mom

(P.S. This is the dress I wore to my cousin's wedding. I forgot to post an OOTD for that occassion. Sorry!)
(P.P.S. I changed my hair again. Bangs and deep auburn. Sometimes looks black, sometimes looks red, mostly looks auburn. Do they have hair rehab? HA.)

Cripes, Monday Already?

Well since Spain clinched the World Cup title from the Netherlands, I have nothing else (sports-wise) to distract me, so expect more posting in the coming months. Until football starts. Ohboyohboyohboy.

That being said, I leave Wednesday for Cousin's wedding extravaganza. It'll be plenty of fun, since all I know about it is that there will be an open bar, and it's a Native American ceremony. And knowing my family, that's going to be a doozy. There's very good odds that at least two of the men in the family will be wearing headdresses and carrying bows with suction cup arrows.

We are the Special Ed of families. That's just Dad's side; Mom's side is flat out slap ass crazy. Yeah, Brother and I never had a chance.

Since I will be gone for a few days, I've scheduled some automatic posts to share some nifty things with y'all while I'm away. I'll update with pictures and tales when I return on Sunday. Hopefully have some OOTDs in there as well, depending on how the family responds to my attire.

Ohboyohboyohboy.

BEATBOXING ROBOTS.

Since I have family who have found the site, and were scandalized by my mouth, I'm going to be cursing in inventive ways. Which will probably last a very short time. Hello Family! Y'all should be accustomed to my lip by now. Fo rillz.

Moving on, I've been frantically hunting for the perfect wedding ensemble. Cruel fate struck me as I sat to a bit of internet shopping last night.

Behold!

THIS would be perfect for the wedding! Why dost thou tempt me so? Slap on some dangling, ethnic earrings, strappy wedges, and a domed cocktail ring. Jackie O's and a modern chignon. Ugh, I die.

T-Minus Two Weeks

I am wigging out.

Cousin's wedding is rapidly approaching, (less than two weeks!) and I have yet to even get my plane tickets, let alone post Wedding Wear OOTD shots.

Oh boy.

A flask is an acceptable accessory if over 75% of the congregation are alcoholics, right?

What was THAT look for?

Travel: Luggage (Small)

When I travel, I like to travel light. As in, just a carry-on.

I almost never go on vacations longer than a few days. The last time I did was a mountain vacation with my best friend's family. For a week. Even then, with hiking gear and various nature necessities, we could each only bring a backpack each.

So when it comes to parsing the absolute necessities for a vacation into one small bag, I am a pro.

For my cousin's wedding, I've already been mapping out my plan of attack. Packing small and efficiently means you absolutely have to know your needs and available room. Just like you wouldn't buy a BarcaLounger for an ant, you wouldn't try and cram a giraffe into a lipstick case.

Ladies, to save space on the plane, pack a bag that can double as a purse, or vice versa. It's the most effective way to judge how much room you've got to work with. Another thing I do, I roll my clothes into tubes instead of folding them. Forget about wrinkles, that's what irons are for. It saves tons of space in big suitcases, and you can eek more out of the small one this way.

The biggest room killer is shoes. I love shoes, and if I could, I would lug a trunk full of my shoes with me everywhere. Just in case. Men don't understand what I mean, but the ladies do. Alas, for time conscious traveling, this cannot be. The easiest solution is to wear one pair of shoes during your trip.

Another obvious tip is to pack for the length of your stay. A lot of men will hear this and think, "Well, no shit. Who packs more than they need?" These men have not travelled anywhere with a woman for longer than three hours.

The smartest and most devious inventions of the fashion industry are purses and skintight clothing. Ladies, we dress to show off our curves, or the most part. And even if we don't, our jeans generally have five microscopic pockets which are only capable of carrying lint. Since we can't fit our stuff in our pockets, we buy purses. And purses can hold more stuff than just a wallet and cellphone, so we carry things we think we need with us every day.

I'll admit, I totally fall for this fashion conspiracy. In my purse right now are: wallet, huge keyring, camera, lighter, loose change, crackers for lunch, and a bajillion coupons. The worst part is that there's more room I can fill it with. So, for ladies, it's hard to pack lightly.

The above bag is my goal. I'm going to fit four days worth of clothing, jewelry, makeup and toiletries into this. 15" x 4" x 4.5"
It's gonna be fun!
