I really love Forever 21 because:
a) the prices - I'm a full-time student, working full-time, so the money I make that doesn't go strait into college or car maintenance, I like to spend on a cute new top or two. And if I can get a whole slew of accessories for under $100, I'm fucking tickled pink.
b) the styles - My grandma helped raise me, and she was the old fashioned lady who dressed up, set their hair and always had their makeup done perfectly. She was also a Rosie the Riviter during the War, and always wore her good pearls to the factory. So, of course I wanted to be as badass as her. F21 seems to read my mind when it comes to trends. Their faux fur collection came around the time I was browsing thrift stores for fur stoles. The military trend best fit my personal style from F21 jackets. I love finding quirky pieces to add to my closet.
c) the fit - For some reason, F21 just fits me in all the right places. I don't have tummy rolls, or weird bra bulge, or butt muffins. The clothes just work.
That being said! I'm going to share just a few pieces I found (from Forever 21) that I die to add to my wardrobe.
The coral Career Skirt. How adorable are those ruffles? It reminds me of the origami dresses Peter Som did for the Fall/Winter 2007 show. I would wear this with the cute blousy floral top I got for Christmas, and some killer heels. Or with a T-shirt and embellished sandals and floppy straw hat. Or.... you get the picture. :P
I forgot to write the name of this dress! ACK! But look at how lovely. The faux-wrap intrigues me greatly. I've always found wrap dresses tricky for me to wear. I have very little in my chestal region, but God made up for the lack of boobage by over-doing the ass and hips. So, I've got back, baby, but that ends up splitting the wrap the whole way up my thigh. And lemme tell ya, that is SO not appropriate for great-granduncle's funeral. (KIDDING. GAWD.) But I think even I would be able to make the wrap-tasticness work in something like this.
I'm leaving this afternoon with only two, mostly because I'll probably start spilling more embarrassing stories. That'll happen anyways, but let's not get them all out at once!
Have a lovely afternoon!
