Ah, spring.
I've lived here since I was five months old. I have been back to Wisconsin while it was snowing or leaves were changing color a dozen times or so. I am very accustomed to perpetual summer. And all the Snow Birds that come with the rising of the mercury.
With Snow Birds comes plenty of fun and frustration for the "year-rounders".
From ages six to fourteen, I was super environmentally conscious. I would clean up debris on the beaches every Sunday, pick up trash along the roads when I walked my dog, protest on behalf of manatees, on and on. I was a vegetarian for almost a week. So seeing the Snow Birds walking through the sand dunes (a big no-no), tossing trash all over the clean beaches during sea turtle mating season, and letting the A/C run with all the doors and windows open, always pissed me off.
Yes, I was a royal hoot to be around as a kid. If you enjoyed talking about soccer, environmental concerns, or the rates of endangered species decimation.
Anyways, seeing the first wave of Snow Birds always brings me back to those days.
As for the pictures, I need to work on my posture.
