Dreaming of a Sunny Bay

I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from reading. Not from reading magazines, or tabloids, but from reading novels, poems, and memoirs.
Which explains my completely baffling love for shapeless, gauzy dresses, or vintage flairs.
This weekend, I was reading The Far Side of Paradise by Arthur Mizener. It's rather interesting, and I've always had a passion for the Roaring Twenties and Flapper Era. But, it made me feel like going down to the river, or vacationing along the Myrtle Beach coast.
And then, inevitably, reality set in.
So, instead, I went browsing for an outfit to fit my brain space.

I love shirtdresses. Strange, because I only really liked them after reading about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in AP US History. Kind of twisted. Don't bother trying to figure that one out, the guidance counsellors at school couldn't, and neither can I.

To pair something flirty, fun and whimsical with the basic and utilitarian shirtdress, I'd go with these earrings. Get some bling in that outfit! Oh yeah.

You need a cloche to get the proper mood. And this is so mod.

Or you could pair with a fedora, if you like.

And for shoes?

Go barefoot!
