Do you believe in fate?

This is a hard one. I got this a couple days ago, and instead of going with my initial impulse, I decided to think it over.

I do believe in fate. To an extent. I believe we have free will and self determination. I don't think there is a cosmic figure playing a complicated marionette game. We have control of our destiny.

However, I also believe that there is a cosmic force binding us all, that is capable of wonderous things. I believe that fate can bring people together. I believe that fate will reward people for generosity and goodness. I believe that some things cannot be avoided, no matter how hard we may resist it.
